A document obtained exclusively by the news agency Reuters sheds light on the new measures taken by the current administration to adjust and filter access to asylum by people who require a Credible Fear Screen.
These new measures were highlighted to hundreds of asylum agents as part of their training, to be considered and even required for their application to real cases of Credible Fear Interview.
The Credible Fear Interview is a step that many people require to ask for asylum defensively since they do not have a visa to enter the US, or because they are in the US defending themselves against deportation. For the government to accept their asylum applications, these people must go through a Credible Fear Screening. The new measures offer a stricter standard for approving Credible Fear, and it could eliminate the possibility of presenting and obtaining a hearing in a complete Asylum application.
We ask anyone who suffers persecution in their country of origin and puts their hope of protection in the United States of America, to learn about these new changes since these would take effect this month.
